Monte has been professionally training horses for 30 years. His philosophy is focusing on creating lightness and respect through understanding each individual animal. Through his own program and the insights from other top professionals in the industry, Monte has successfully trained performance horses in numerous disciplines for his clients over the years. You can find horses Monte has worked with succeeding in the show ring, competing in professional rodeo and barrel racing circuits, on working ranches, or simply being consistent, dependable mounts on the trail. With a philosophy based on a working partnership and kinship with the horse aided in proper input and release, Monte can create correctness and usefulness in his client's horses.

Monte has successfully coached grade school IEA and collegiate IHSA teams to regional and national qualifications. Monte loves to coach new horseman and instill in them good habits and appreciation for horses. Monte's goal for horse and rider is to see small improvements every day, building a great partnership over time.

Monte's focus is in training reined cow horses that are willing, able, and long lasting in their careers. Other areas of focus include Non-Pro coaching and AQHA Ranch Riding. Monte's clients and horses shown have qualified for the AQHA VRH Amateur World Show multiple times in limited showings.
